Happy Easter!
I compiled a bunch of verses-prophesies and gospel accounts-of Jesus' birth, death and resurrection. And I thought I'd share it with you guys!
(Luke 1:30-32) “But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.” (Isaiah 9:6-7) “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.” (Isaiah 53: 2&4-5a) He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities” (Luke 23: 44-46a) It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice”(Psalm 22:1&6-8&16-18) “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?” (Luke 23:46b) “When he had said this, he breathed his last.” (Luke 23: 34b-38) “And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, 'He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.' The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, 'If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.' There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” (Isaiah 53:9-10) “He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.” (Luke 24:1-6a) “On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightening stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” (Matthew 28:9) “Suddenly Jesus met them. 'Greetings,' he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.” (Isaiah 53:12b) “For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Psalm 22: 27-31) “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations. All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—those who cannot keep themselves alive. Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!” (2 Corinthians 5:21) “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

but doesn't linger there
i like the feeling of a cool evening breeze
that washes goosebumps on my skin
but doesn't linger there
i like the feeling of the breath of air
that whispers across my face
but doesn't linger there
i like the feeling of a calm little zephyr
that brushes across my feet
but doesn't linger there
i like the feeling of a day gone by
that was successful and restful
but doesn't linger there
i like the warm sun that slowly sets
that paints pink across the sky
but doesn't linger there
i like the clear moon that rises
that accompanies the stars
but doesn't linger there
that washes goosebumps on my skin

Happy April Fools Day Everybody.
unfortunately the snow outside my window is not a joke
it is amazing how if this were november or early december
we would be outside shaking the snow off the trees
so there was more on the ground
but now that it's APRIL the snow only brings
gross disappointment.
I was expecting a little more from april first
than snow and more snow and rain
maybe all the snow will melt away tomorrow
when it wil be
50˚ and sunny
yes. we got 3-4 inches of snow last night. it's pretty and all-but i can only think of all the daffodils and the crocuses that were already in bloom.
sad day.

this is beautiful
"You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the LORD’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.”
Isaiah 55

*sigh*
the sun was shining.....
and it was snowing.
this weird new england weather
is starting to drive me
crazy.
....
i wish i could write poetry like i could
when it would roll and bump
and sing right out of me
when the sun would shine and i would write
when the time would lend itself to words
and i could hear them
and i could write them
....
but, because my time has not had time to write
here is something i wrote and like:

but, because my time has not had time to write
here is something i wrote and like:
Standing on the shore, the breeze washing my face in salty-freshness, I gaze and imagine. If Jesus were out there walking on the deep azure water the waves rolling around his ankles, and he called my name, would I come? Would I have the faith to trust his might, to step foot atop the sea? Would I trust not in my own strength to hold me up, but in the power of the one who created me and the sea? The salty water licks my feet as I edge closer to the water. I take a breath. I trust. I step. Holding me up through the waves around me, He lovingly sustains my every move. Fearless, I run to Jesus.
(i think i already posted this-a long time ago, but i like it so here it is again...it's not a drabble-120 words.)

i actually have time to post!
I think it is a miracle-I actually have some free time-a whole hour!! Now that basketball is over I've had some more time to take pictures, so here are some random pieces of my life (all of these are unedited-except for a few that were "denoised" a bit):
And because this blog was for me to post what I write:
I was imagining the other day...
| a walk with my sister |
![]() |
| seriously, i think our kitchen has the best lighting ever |
![]() |
| a birthday party |
![]() |
| a stunning morning-this doesn't do it justice |
![]() |
| the rising sun was piercing the fog and it was gorgeous |
| yummo strawberries |
And because this blog was for me to post what I write:
I was imagining the other day...
Ocean breeze wash my face in the warm afternoon air.
The cool wavy water washes through my light brown hair.
The sand between my toes,
the salty air in my nose.
The summer in the sky
and my hair is quick to dry.
With the warmth of the sun,
the day's nearly done.
I close my eyes as sleep's soft wings flutter past
and the day become a memory. (3/11/11)

oh what a beautiful morning!
Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I've got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way.
All the sounds of the earth are like music,
All the sounds of the earth are like music,
The breeze is so busy it don't miss a tree,
And an ol' Weepin' Willer is laughin' at me.
~
here is a picture of the morning-and i only wish i could capture the breeze, the smell of the coming spring and the warmth of the sun

here is a picture of the morning-and i only wish i could capture the breeze, the smell of the coming spring and the warmth of the sun
it doesn't really look that beautiful-the dirty snow, the leaveless trees-but the sun is shining, the snow is melting and spring is coming-looks beautiful to me.

Dear Lord and Father of Mankind
Drop they still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
take from our souls the strain and stress,
and let our ordered lives confess
they beauty of Thy peace
Breathe through the heats of our desire
they coolness and they balm;
let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire,
O still, small voice of calm.
-John Greenleaf Whittier
this is just a portion of the poem that was in my history book

words
aren't words just the strangest things?
sounds and syllables, meanings and rhythms, consonants and vowels, communication, poetry and songs, prose and speech.
and isn't poetry the weirdest thing?
a compilation of strange words, to form a rhythm and rhyme, a reason and a melody of words. to portray a thought, a hope, a desire, a memory a concept, a love, a feeling even though sometimes the silence is louder than words.
it's a good thing some of the oddest things are the most beautiful.
i really think there are few things that are more beautiful than words-
maybe just a sunset
or
an ocean full of water
the bride on her wedding day
or
the new born baby
the clouds of a storm
or
the smile on a face
the tips of the mountains
or
the rays of sunshine
on a summer day
but maybe the words that can hardly describe these are just as beautiful

spring tease
Walking down the street, i listened-
the birds were singing
the melting snow was dribbling down the storm drains
the tires were swirshing through the slush
and it was beautiful
i felt the warm sun on my face
even though i was a little late for class
my feet had to slow a bit to enjoy the
spring tease

love this song
When Somebody Loved Me
when somebody loved me
everything was beautiful
every hour we spent together
lives within my heart
and when she was sad
i was there to dry her tears
and when she was happy so was i
when she loved me
through the summer and the fall
we had each other that was all
just she and i together like it was ment to be
and when she was lonley
i was there to comfort her
and i knew that she loved me
so the years went
by i stayed the same
but she began to drift away
i was left alone
but still i waited for the day
when she'd say i will always love you
lonley and forgotten
i never thought she'd look my way
when she smiled at me
and held me
just like she used to do
like she loved me
when she loved me
when somebody loved me
everything was beautiful
every hour we spent together
lives within my heart
when she loved me.
toy story is the best.
